Mr. Scott’s practice focuses on bankruptcy and creditors rights. He represents creditors and debtors in all types of bankruptcy cases, with emphasis on Chapter 11 business reorganization, re-structuring and liquidation/termination of businesses outside of bankruptcy.
Mr. Scott has over 30 years of extensive experience as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. He is experienced in asset protection for debtors and asset recovery for creditors, as well as transactional work for clients including structuring of commercial lending deals, general representation and formation of small business entities, and acquisitions and sales of businesses and business assets of all kinds.
Special Transactions:-
Served as co-counsel to the Debtor, Value America, Inc. in its liquidating Chapter 11 proceeding. One of the first dot.com filings. Resulting in payout of 100% plus interest of the allowed claims of unsecured creditors.

Has handled Chapter 12 Family Farmer reorgs. under the bankruptcy code for farming and horse farming businesses.

Has handled Chapter 11 Single Asset Real Estate reorganizations, some involving issues relating to Conservation Easements and sale of Federal Tax Credits.

Development of strategy for large land holding corporations

Commercial leases with top retailers for retail and distribution space

Counseled real estate developers and general and sub-contractors in financial restructuring and mechanics lien issues.

Litigated fraudulent and voluntary conveyance claims in State court and in Bankruptcy court proceedings.

Worked with clients in asset protection, including the use of Private Bankers in Great Britain and Switzerland.
